Scaping Lands is an evening length performance directed by Brandon Lagaert in collaboration with the students of Bewegungs-art Freiburg.
In a world defined by social, cultural, linguistic, and political boundaries, this performance creates a liminal space—a realm where people and stories intersect, collide, and merge. Within this space, characters coexist in chaotic harmony driven by their inner desires and shaped by external forces. Some are lost while others wield power, yet all are caught in the fluid dance of group dynamics.
The performance asks to both the audience as the collaborating artists alike:
What happens when characters who should never meet, share the same space?
How do they adapt, resist, or transform through their encounters?
As borders blur, we confront a deeper question—why do boundaries and differences hold such weight in shaping our sense of self and belonging?
Within this liminal space,
we find a semicircle of semipeople.
They are unaware that when familiarity equals value,
strangers become virtually worthless.
Will they ever learn that being in control, will end up controlling them?
